Fertility Planning
At Nido Wellness in Petaluma, we guide you in getting to know your own body, cycle, and fertility patterns. Our work together will include helping you to create and implement a fertility plan by providing you with education, nutrition, and lifestyle counseling all the while supporting you with acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine.
You may or may not have infertility challenges. Many of our acupuncture clients come to us because they understand the benefits of acupuncture for their reproductive health and even without a diagnosis, want to enhance their fertility with East Asian medicine.
To get the most benefit from fertility acupuncture, we recommend you receive weekly or twice weekly acupuncture for 3-6 months before you are trying to conceive or in preparation for your egg retrieval for egg freezing and/or an IVF transfer. If you are already trying to get pregnant, acupuncture will benefit you in meeting your goals and we recommend starting with a 3-month care plan.
Trying to conceive
Our acupuncture for fertility plan follows you through the whole process. Having difficulty conceiving can be a huge burden to bear alone. We can guide you along your journey. You may have a diagnosis or have unexplained infertility. You may not have seen a doctor yet and are worried after a period of trying.

IVF and IUI Support
We use an integrative approach to complement your IVF/IUI plan and provide you with holistic and compassionate evidenced-based care to increase your chances of a positive outcome. Receiving weekly acupuncture for at least 3 months leading up to your procedures will provide you with the best preparation for your IUI or IVF. Our treatments complement and enhance your fertility clinic’s protocol and we are happy to coordinate with local Bay Area fertility clinics for you to receive the best care.
In addition to office visits in Petaluma, we offer acupuncture on the day of your embryo transfer. Studies show that receiving acupuncture immediately before and after your transfer increases your rate of success. If our schedule doesn’t allow us to be present, we will try our best to find someone for you.
Sperm Health
Whether you’ve been given a diagnosis of male factor infertility or you want to optimize your chances for conception, we love to work with you to improve your sperm health. It takes two to make a baby and when both partners or directed sperm donors receive treatment, success rates often increase.
Some reasons people get acupuncture for sperm health are low sperm count, low morphology, varicocele recovery, vasectomy reversal, stress, and overwork. We provide our Sonoma County acupuncture clients with guidance on nutrition and lifestyle to improve their health for the future health of their babies.
Egg Freezing
Fertility acupuncture to help optimize your egg-freezing experience is best started at least 3 months before your egg retrieval. Many clients experience higher yields by including acupuncture for fertility in their preparation process. Three months of preparation also gives you time to address any health imbalances or preexisting conditions before your egg retrieval. By optimizing your general health, we give you the best chance at ensuring your future family-building goals.
